John is a Consultant in the Property Team at Saunders Robinson Brown.

He has been practising law for over 40 years and specialises in property law, subdivisions, trusts, wills and estates. He acts as a professional trustee for a number of private trusts.

John graduated from the University of Canterbury in 1977 with a Bachelor of Laws and commenced practice with a Blenheim law firm in 1978, where he was in partnership for eight years. He returned to Christchurch in 1987 and joined Saunders & Co in 1990 as a Partner.

He then joined Saunders Robinson Brown as a Partner in 2012.

Notable experience

  • Acting for individual clients in residential and lifestyle property sales and purchases.

  • Acting for a developer on a North Canterbury subdivision involving complicated boundary adjustments, water issues and easements.

  • Acting for developers of 10 to 20 lot subdivisions, particularly in the Selwyn District.

  • Advising private clients on wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and estate administration.

  • Acting as a professional trustee for numerous private trusts.
