Hagley Oval Named ‘International Cricket Pitch of the Year’
The Hagley Oval has been named 'International Cricket Pitch of the Year' at the recent New Zealand Cricket awards dinner held in Auckland. This is the first time this award has been presented to a brand new cricket ground. The development of the Hagley Oval is the culmination of many years of hard work and resolve by Canterbury Cricket, the Canterbury Cricket Trust, supporting funders and stakeholders, which has resulted not only in achieving a magnificent cricket venue for Christchurch, but an all-purpose sporting and recreational facility that will serve the city for many years to come.
We are proud to say that Lee Robinson, Partner, has played a pivotal role in the development of the Hagley Oval as Chair of the Canterbury Cricket Trust. Lee has a long association with cricket in New Zealand, having advised national and local cricket bodies throughout his career. He is also a sitting New Zealand Cricket and Canterbury Cricket Code of Conduct Commissioner.
