Victoria graduated from University of Canterbury in 1997 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She was admitted to the Bar in 1998 and worked for a year at another Christchurch law firm before heading overseas.
Victoria spent four years in London where she worked for Holme Roberts and Owen, a US based law firm, gaining experience in mergers and acquisitions, telecommunications and a wide variety of commercial contracts. On her return to New Zealand in 2003 Victoria joined the corporate and commercial team at another Christchurch law firm. She then joined Saunders Robinson Brown as an Associate in 2009.
In a change of direction, Victoria moved into our Trusts and Estates Team. Her extensive background in dealing with complex commercial matters, including the interpretation of contracts, means she is well placed to assist clients with the drafting of complex trusts and wills, as well as asset planning and structuring.
Victoria was appointed special counsel in June 2018.
Some of Victoria's recent work includes:
- Advising rural clients on succession matters, including the generational transition of farms and associated assets
- Reviewing and advising on the structure of trusts
- Assisting with estate and asset planning
- Member of the New Zealand Law Society
