Katrina is a Partner in the Commercial Team at Saunders Robinson Brown.

Katrina specialises in commercial property, leasing, company, and trust law.

She also has particular expertise in dealing with shopping centres. This includes providing legal advice in relation to the acquisition, sale, development, financing and leasing of shopping centres. As a result,  Katrina has built up good industry knowledge of the retail property sector.

Outside of client work, Katrina sits on, and contributes towards the work of, a number of legal committees.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Canterbury.

Notable experience

  • Provided advice to a closely held commercial property investment company in relation to the raising of capital through the issue of additional shares.

  • Assisted with the refinance of a commercial property portfolio worth in excess of $300 million.

  • Assisted with the negotiation of shareholder agreements (including joint venture arrangements) for clients in the commercial property sector and in the rural sector.

  • Acted for rural clients in the acquisition and sale of farming properties.

  • Provided advice in relation to the development, financing, and leasing of numerous shopping centres.

  • Acted for the vendor in the sale of suburban shopping centre with over 50 tenants.

  • Acted for landlords in negotiating agreements to lease and deeds of lease with anchor / major tenants.

  • Assisted clients with the structuring of their affairs following the enactment of the new Trusts Act.
